Coaching
- Shark Cadets Playing System
 |
Handicap System and Tee markers
- One score card needs to be submitted to receive a 9 hole cadet handicap.
- There are 2 grades for cadets;
- A Graders play off the yellow course markers,
-
while B and C graders tee off the short course markers.
- For handicapping purposes each shot you better your score by we will take half a shot off your handicap, each shot you have over your hcp you get half a shot back
- A graders have a handicap of 18 or lower, while B graders have a handicap of 27 – 9, while C graders have handicap of 28 – 45.
- Handicaps are up dated after each competition round.
Playing Systems
- To ensure that we keep up with the group in front we have some simple playing systems in place. One of our aims is to play the 9 holes in less than 2 hours and 20 minutes.
- Firstly watch yours and your playing partners golf ball closely to make sure that you know where you have hit it.
- Walk Quickly between shots.
- You are allowed 1 practice swing before your shot.
- If you have had more than a double bogey on the hole, pick your ball up and put a quadruple bogey (4 over the par of the hole on your score card)
Parents
- Parents are encouraged to walk around with the juniors.
- It is advised that parents don’t try to coach the juniors out on the course, we don’t mind pointers to encourage speed of play, however when parents start trying to coach, it does make it quite difficult.
- I try and work on the principle of 10 positives to one criticism.
